Hydraulic Modeller – Join Our Team in New Zealand

About the Role

Stantec is seeking an experienced Hydraulic Modeller with a background in stormwater and wastewater to join our national modelling team. This role offers the chance to work on high-impact projects, both nationally and internationally, with a diverse range of project teams.

As part of Stantec’s globally renowned team for water and drainage modelling, you will help lead modelling and network planning projects that integrate our global best practices with local expertise.

Key Responsibilities

Lead technical oversight of modelling projects for major clients like Watercare, Auckland Council, and Wellington Water.
Conduct rapid flood hazard assessments, model building, and network calibration/validation.
Provide flood hazard mapping and system performance assessments.
Develop strategic studies, growth assessments, and master plans.
Conduct wastewater overflow and water quality assessments.
Mentor and train junior modelling staff across various offices.
Ensure compliance with QAQC procedures and share best practices across Stantec’s offices.

Skills & Qualifications

You will bring expertise in:

InfoWorks ICM and GIS software such as ArcGIS.
Experience with data analytics, coding, and data visualization (desirable but not essential).
Hands-on experience in wastewater modelling; experience with stormwater is desirable.
A passion for innovative thinking and the drive to contribute to the wider Asia Pacific Stantec network planning community.
