We are looking for Instrument Engineer, the position is to be based in Khafji, Saudi Arabia.
The Instrument Engineer may operate within the Core Engineering Team or PMT project team environment. The Instrument Engineer may have engineer grade instrument personnel under his responsibility and will be tasked with their control and management and the delegation of activities to such support personnel. The Instrument Engineer may work under the supervision of a Senior Instrument Engineer in which case his responsibilities will be as delegated. The position will be based in Khafji (Saudi Arabia).

Key Responsibilities:
Static/Rotating Equipment (Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Storage Tanks, Pumps, Compressor, Fans, Piping Systems):
Technical/Engineering Roles:
Review/approval detailed engineering design, specification and technical datasheets of static/rotating equipment, including pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, pumps, compressors, and associated piping systems for FEED projects.
Prepare/review detailed engineering design 2D/3D drawings for static/rotating systems, ensuring they meet defined project scope and requirements.
Review/approval stress analysis and flow calculation reports to ensure mechanical integrity and compliance with relevant standards and codes (API, ASME, SAES).
Review/approval material requisition and MTOs during FEED phase.
Materials science/selection, considering factors such as thermal conditions, fluid types, and pressure ratings.
Manage/review vendors document to evaluate equipment options and provide technical bid evaluation TBE.
Problem Solving Roles:
Identify/analyze FEED technical issues (design specs, vibration, failure, corrosion, fouling, leaks etc.) related to design and installation of static/rotating systems and provide technical solutions and support during FEED phase.
Risk Mitigation Roles:
Participate in HAZOP session.
Risk management, Identify/ mitigate technical risks associated with static/rotating equipment during the FEED phase of the project.
Collaboration and Teamwork Roles:
Coordinate with client and FEED engineering disciplines (e.g., civil, electrical, instrumentation) to ensure static/rotating systems are well integrated into overall project defined scope and requirements.
Provide technical input during project reviews, progress meetings, and design workshops to ensure the mechanical design is aligned with project objectives and client expectations.
Must have Qualification/Experience:
B.Sc. Mechanical Engineering, M.Sc. preferred.
At least 12 years engineering design work experience in static/rotating equipment.
Flow simulation, 2D/3D layout drawings and technical datasheets.
Knowledge of reading P&ID and PFD.
Material selection experience in oil/gas & water treatment application.
Knowledge of flow theories & power calculation for Pump/Heat Exchanger system.
Identify equipment design mistakes and set corrective actions to solve them during FEED engineering phase.
Knowledge of design codes (API 610, TEMA, API 660,650, 617 and ASME BPVC, SAES).
Good Knowledge of MS office, flow simulation software and CAD software.
Additional Qualifications/Experience:
Preferred professional Engineer (PE) or chartered Engineer (CEng).
PMP certification
Vendors management and procurement support.
Material estimation cost.
HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment).
