Purpose of Job
Jobholders at this level are responsible for leading work activities and working autonomously with minor direction towards predetermined long-term objectives.
Jobholders might act as internal consultants and facilitators through providing guidance to deliver and perform operational activities.
Their main operational role includes preparing complex studies to Committees related to fines and direct tax/zakat assessment imposed by ZATCA, providing accounting opinion for consultation requests related to direct tax/zakat laws and regulation subjects, and developing action plans for issues.
Job Responsibilities
Zakat & Direct Tax Cases Technical and Accounting Studies Development
• Request required documents/ data from relevant stakeholders within specified period to prepare and study case files
• Prepare case files and ensure data entered are complete and error free to guarantee in-depth revision of file
• Correct errors of data entered into the case files based on information available (including the number of items disputed and physical errors)
• Study accurately and objectively case files arising out of fines imposed by ZATCA on plaintiff highlighting reasons behind imposition of fines and provide Committees with studies in a timely manner
• Study accurately and objectively case files arising out of direct tax/zakat assessment imposed by ZATCA on plaintiff highlighting reasons behind imposition of due tax ratio from an accounting standpoint and provide Committees with studies in a timely manner
• Prepare accurate studies for consultation requests made by members of 1st Instance Committees during deliberation
• Develop direct tax/zakat accounting opinion on tax laws and regulation subjects
• Develop accurate and timely periodical and customized reports for Section and submit to management
• Document and update the section’s information and data periodically in its relevant database
• Report issues to management and develop action plans providing recommendations for effective resolution/ improvement
Organization and Operations
• Follow all relevant policies, processes and standard operating procedures so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner
• Help in solving escalated problems and provide needed support for junior team to ensure work is carried out in an efficient manner
• Escalate complex problems to the relevant person to ensure cases/issues are closed properly
• Perform other duties as requested
People Management
• Train junior staff on the different job activities to ensure transfer of know-how, when applicable
• Provide clear direction, prioritize tasks, assign and delegate responsibility, and monitor the workflow of subordinates/ junior staff
• Support junior staff or direct reports in order to execute their duties according to set policies and processes

Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or equivalent is required
• Master’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent is preferred
Experience
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
